Celebrating Link Worker Day 2022
19th May 2022
Thursday 19th May is the 4th UK Annual Social Prescribing Link Worker Day.
The team at Bailiwick Social Prescribing is celebrating this, with the aim to raise awareness of Social Prescribing Link Workers’ impact and role in transforming health outcomes for all.
Social Prescribing Link Workers can meaningfully connect with those who attend their GP with issues that medication alone cannot solve.
Social Prescribing is going from strength to strength, as highlighted by The Kings Fund; ‘There is a growing body of evidence that social prescribing can lead to a range of positive health and wellbeing outcomes.’
Since the launch of the scheme in July 2021, 223 clients have been referred into the service and over 1,400 contacts with clients have been made by the Link Workers at Bailiwick Social Prescribing., supporting them with better social integration within the community, helping with access to Statutory services, activities to improve mental and social health and much more.
Link Worker Manager, Trish De Carteret says:
‘National Link Worker Day gives us a chance to reflect on our work in the community. We work alongside the amazing 3rd sector partners who have the specialist skills to support our clients and we help to overcome the fear and anticipation of accessing the help that is needed by supporting our clients to attend, with us if needed. We thank all of our Quality Assured Partners and our supporters for their support and look forward to developing new relationships to offer more opportunities to our clients going forward.’
